I've read this quite a few times. Perhaps I'm stupid. Perhaps I'm dumb. Sometimes things have to slap me in the face a few times before I 'get it'.

Slap me a few times (not really) because I don't get it and cannot follow.

Come down a level or two in your own mind and tell us what you are actually talking about.

You are not alone in finding me sometimes aggravatingly obscure.

When Palin was introduced as McCain's running mate, I remember looking at her eldest daughter in the audience and being struck by a sort of--glow. She was just an ordinary pregnant teenager and not uniquely beautiful or anything, but still.

And her mother, Sarah, was a much stronger personality and that glow was in her much more powerful. It's not that silly over-used term "authenticity" because one can certainly be authentically a moron. It was a non-dangerous form of charisma. a strength of honesty and unself-consciousness.

And that loathsome pair Schmidt and Wallace, who had only recommended her because she was a Republican governor and a woman, and thought they could turn her into the android they wanted, did everything possible to destroy what was real and vital in her.

And as I started out this piece--I was thinking first of someone uniquely precious to me but I decided to write about a less rare but still uncommon quality that makes some people a little more than they might seem to be, and how often that quality in them is not properly valued.

Thank you. I suspect that we all have things floating around in our heads that when we try to express them via prose, makes perfect sense to ourselves, while leaving others scratching theirs. Not scratching now.

I felt it was a thought that would've become extremely tiresome if expanded on even a little bit further. It wasn't a profound political insight. It was just giving credit where so many others only wanted to give scorn.

It's your stack! And not all is politics, difficult as that is to believe these days. Expand away as I wait for the ribs to smoke.

"... conquered that attack of over-floweryness. ... "

The scent of a woman, on the trail of a muse ... 😉🙂

Reminds me of a quip by Einstein: genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. 🙂 Easy, too easy, to get lost in the former and never make anything out of it, at least the best of it -- often some flies in the ointment.
