Not—Not—THE BREATHING TUBE!!!!!
How about a nice amputation instead?
I’m not a preserve life no matter the cost to human dignity sort of gal, but this is ridiculous.
The British High Court just ruled it was too cruel to keep baby Indi Gregory alive, and it was too dangerous to have her die at home. Only the hospital or a hospice could safely kill her.
And God forbid the Italians try to treat her. What if they found a treatment that would keep her alive? Imagine how many parents would demand it.
But the part that really got me was the great compassionate interest of the court and the NHS in preventing Indi’s further suffering, because they said that everything keeping her alive was really painful.
You know what I think? I think mitochondrial disease isn’t a big enough charitable/pharmacological/radiological/surgical specialty lobbying behemoth yet. It’s just miserably expensive to treat and doesn’t even have a ribbon color or a 5K run.
If only poor Indi had had cancer. They’d’ve done anything for her and to her then!
Well, never mind. She’s dead now, and just as the court ordered.
This entire story makes me sick. What do you call this, if not a 'death panel' making medical decisions for others?!?!??!
As people say liking an article doesn't mean to say I like what happened. It is despicable.
