This man’s actual story wasn’t being told in that dramatic film. It’s only that in both what happened was the exact miracle. A small personal one. But the real one turned out lucky for the world too. We should try to keep that gift going.
As always it’s a fashion to carry on about the sure doomtimes we’re in, and I’m starting to think today’s loudest-mouthed screamers against the machine conjured themselves alive from the pages of a clumsy satirical sketchbook. It does take some force-field magic to be so naturally vicious in the service of justice as many of these guys are.
Anyway, what I read on Jonathan Turley’s website today stopped my heart for a moment but provided a little refreshment of the soul. It was an important reminder of certain truths. I hope you’ll read it too, and perhaps take from it what I did.
And maybe watch that movie if you’ve never seen it. When I was young it seemed to be broadcast every Christmas Eve. You’ve got to pay to see it now, though perhaps your local library might have it.
Getting the book to read!
Great perspective.. thanks for mentioning Jonathan Turley. Brilliant and measured, I will track down his blog.
